Staten Island Injury Accident Rehabilitation

Staten Island sports injury patients treated at The Healthy Body

When you suffer an injury, whether it's an injury on the job, a sports injury, an auto injury or even just a simple strain from working in the garden, your first thought will be of immediate treatment. You may decide to go to an emergency room or treatment center to get your injury assessed and treated, but what happens next? Immediate treatment rarely provides long term relief from serious injuries. Where do you go to continue to live your life with less pain after an injury accident?

Here at The Healthy Body, Dr. Steven Albert is dedicated to preventing and minimizing injuries, helping patients to achieve true pain relief, and promoting overall healthy living. Using tools like physical therapymassage therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, weight loss counseling and more, we can treat your condition, from a workers compensation injury to an auto injury to a simple strain. We accept a number of different types of medical insurance and we will be happy to help you complete the necessary claim forms and other paperwork.

Injury Accident Treatments

Dr. Albert believes in treating the source of an injury with chiropractic and wellness care rather than using more invasive treatments like surgery or masking symptoms with medication. Chiropractic care is safe and effective in the treatment of acute low back pain, which is the type of pain that can be caused by a sports injury or by moving a heavy object. Further, research has shown that chiropractic care can be helpful in the treatment of neck pain, which is a common complaint after a car accident. With chiropractic care, Dr. Albert can gently manipulate the spine back into proper alignment, which will reduce stress and pain in many areas of the body.

Massage therapy has also been proven to be effective in treating sports injury patients, and repetitive motion injuries typical of workers compensation claims, as well. Massage therapy increases circulation and stimulates the release of endorphins--the body's natural painkillers. Additionally, physical therapy can be effective in the treatment of sports injuries by strengthening the muscles that support the spine.

  • An Apple a Day . . .
